Walking/Hiking: With the natural beauty of these islands off Spain, you might want to walk along the waterfront in Palma in the quiet of the early morning. Watch the sky lighten as the sun lightens the sky and the city awakens behind you. There are about 20 different hiking excursions that you can take to explore the natural and historical points of interest on the island. Some will take you to a castle dating from the 1500's, a hermitage called "Ermita de la Trinidad dating from 1705 or a watchtower reached after a ride on an electric train to a valley of oranges.
Excursions: There are also a number of biking, driving and train excursions that will allow you to safely and easily explore Majorca. Visitors can rent bicycle and set off along quiet country roads. Of course the easiest ways to get around is by car or train. But just remember that if you are doing your own navigating by car or bike, that you respect private property and stay on the roads until you reach a designated stopping point.
By the Shining Sea: Being an island there are all kinds of ways you can indulge your love of water activities in Majorca. There are 41 marinas around Majorca which mooring for 10,000 water craft. Here you can charter a yacht, or go windsurfing or water-skiing. If you prefer to go under your own power, pedal boats can often be rented from several of the island resorts. Scuba divers will be enchanted by the clear waters in the small, shallow coves around the coast of Majorca.
Theme Parks: For the kids there's the Aqualandia/El Foro de Mallorca waterpark, with playground, swimming pool, wax museum and crazy golf. Aquacity is a gigantic water funfair, with a mini-zoo, parrot shows and a children's farm in addition to the amazing array of water features; wave pool and water slides.
Wildlife: Visit the Auto-Safari in Cala Millor where you can drive car through the park to see the many different animals, including the young animals born at the zoo. You can take a two-hour minisubmarine ride to explore the variety of flora and fauna under the sea, or stay on dry land and be entertained by the performing parrots, sea lions and dolphins at Marineland in Protals Nous.
